Step 4. The LBECEC- Research Advisory Council Meets to Review the Proposal
The Research Advisory Council will review each proposal in a timely manner and only when necessary invite the investigator to discuss the proposal with the Council. As stated previously, the purpose of the review is to insure that the procedures described in each proposal have been reviewed and fully approved by the UNLV Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects. Additionally, the Council will determine if the procedures are reasonable in terms of the time required of children, their parents and the staff. Finally, attention will be given to the number of research projects underway at any given time to insure that the total research effort does not exceed the capacities of the Center or its staff.
